Kathleen Mills received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University. At Bloomington High School South, she teaches broadcasting, film literature, AP English, and advises The Optimist newspaper, where her students regularly win awards from Quill and Scroll, the Women's Press Club, and the IHSPA. A former daily newspaper reporter, she has been published in The New York Times and The Indianapolis Star. Mills has received two Lilly Endowment Teacher Fellowships, won the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Special Recognition Adviser award and was a participant in the New York Times Teaching Project.
