How much does it cost?
The fee for a five-day student workshop is $575. This includes instruction, on-campus lodging, supervision, and a campus meal card good for 6 meals at the all-you-can-eat campus dining halls. Additional meals may be purchased with a debit card at a variety of campus cafes and nearby food establishments.
Students who attend both sessions pay $575 for each session, but the weekend stay-over in the dorm is included.
Local students who prefer to commute do not pay for lodging or meals, although they may eat in the dining hall with their classmates if they choose. The commuter rate is $395.

Once you have completed the registration form for HSJI, you will be directed to a payment form. Both forms must be completed before your space is reserved.
You may pay immediately with a credit card or choose to pay later by logging back into the payment system or mailing a check. You can also pay later if you are applying for a scholarship or if someone else, such as your school, is paying on your behalf.
Grant opportunities
HSJI offers two funding opportunities for eligible students: Opportunity Grants and the Bloomington Press Club Grant.
