Ashton Hackman is a senior from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is studying broadcast journalism with a minor in Spanish. This summer, Ashton is an intern at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He has also interned for Gray Television at WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne, where he was an on-air reporter, turning stories and filling in as an anchor. He also works for the Arnolt Center for Investigative Journalism at IU, where he helps with investigative stories.
His work has been featured on NBC News Now, as well as several TV markets across Indiana.
He is the current News Director for IU Student Television, which he has been apart of since his freshman year. He was Assistant Executive Director for IUSTV his junior year and also served as a news producer. He previously served as Programming Director, What’s Up Weekly Producer, and Co-Host. He also is a reporter and anchor from time to time.
When he is not working with IUSTV, you can catch him cooking, golfing, and spending time with family, friends, and his dog Yogi.
