Extrovert Express guided by Ambition
Ava Rosenberg, a rising senior attending Evanston Township High School, opens up about herself and certain traits that she believes makes up her personality. Through my enjoyable conversation with Ava, I learned quite a bit about her.
Evanston Township High School, Ava’s high school, is only 10 minutes away from NorthWestern University. Although this University has a good reputation and is overall a satisfactory college, Ava conveys her dislike in attending any school in Illinois for her undergraduate. Rosenberg excitedly said, “I feel like the point of college is to leave and go out into the world along with experiencing new things. Also, a lot of the students from my high school attend NorthWestern University and going there would make me feel like I am going through high school all over again.” This speaks a lot about Ava’s personality, as she is willing to meet new people and make new connections. The idea of leaving Illinois for college thrills the extroverted side of Rosenberg.
When asking Ava to describe herself in three words she said, “focused, joyful, and hardworking.” Through my process of asking her more questions, I had come to the realization that Ava is undoubtedly focused and hardworking. Rosenberg said, “I’ve been playing for my school tennis team since freshman year and I also play for my lacrosse team.” Rosenberg mentioned that she attended Warhawk tennis camp at UW-Whitewater. “Going to this camp helped me sharpen my tennis skills as well as meet people who are also interested in tennis and improving their skills. It was a great environment” This serves to show the hard work and full effort she gives towards any activity, or activities, that she is passionate about. To add on to her experience with tennis, Rosenberg said, “playing for my school tennis team during Covid has helped me expand my extroverted personality and talk to my friends and teammates.”
Coming to Rosenberg’s role in the yearbook, she reveals that the organizational & design aspect played a part in attracting her to it. Rosenberg confidently says, “I really like how the yearbook requires a person to stay organized.” However, on a more humorous note, she mentions “The yearbook had put in a bad picture of me which definitely was a part of my joining yearbook.” Her primary reason for joining the yearbook, specifically regarding her liking towards the organizational part, helps contribute to Rosenberg’s “focused” personality, as earlier revealed.
Lastly, I would like to move towards a more personal side of Ava. She has this necklace, specifically with four purple beads, that she wears everyday. However, this is not just any ordinary necklace. Rosenberg said, “My mother had told me that the four beads represented me, my brother and sister, and my mom herself.” Wearing this necklace everyday is a reminder for Rosenberg of the joy her family brings into her life. Of course, it also showcases her own love and affection with regards to her family.
On a more fun note, Ava discloses that her favorite T.V show is “The Office’’. “Kelly Kapoor has to be my favorite character, I really like her outgoing and fun personality.” Rosenberg relates to this extrovert and affectionate persona of Kelly Kapoor.
All in all, it is safe to say that Ava Rosenberg is a delightful person yet a diligent student.
